Team HADES, which stands for Highly Autonomous Driving: Exposure & Scenarios - is an agile team, that actively contributes to Zenseact’s mission by developing data-driven, scenario-based verification and validation of our autonomous driving software. How do we know which scenarios the vehicle will be exposed to within its operational design domain, and how do we ensure that the software can handle statistically relevant scenarios? Solving these challenges is one of the keys to achieving safe autonomous driving. Therefore, the team exploits data science to create representative models of real-world traffic and to explore the scenario space.
Your mission and day-to-day tasks:
You will work with large data, advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and closed-loop simulations to develop data-driven frameworks for scenario-based verification and validation. You will also work closely with feature developers, verification & validation experts, and other stakeholders.
Your work could include:
- Developing statistical methods to generate synthetic time series based on real-world traffic scenarios.
- Developing statistical methods to explore the high-dimensional scenario space.
- Ensuring the completeness and representability of the collected data.
- Creating safety metrics based on sound statistical reasoning.
- Working with large databases.
- Supporting the team with your knowledge in data science and statistics.
- Exploring the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence to identify and generate scenarios.

For the best functional match, we need to see that you have:
- A high academic background, preferably a Ph.D. in Statistics/Signal Processing, or equivalent knowledge.
- Experience with data analysis, statistical learning, and sampling techniques.
- Strong programming skills in Python
It's not a must, but a plus if there is experience within any of these:
- Reliability analysis.
- Machine learning.
- Verification and validation of ADAS/AD software.
- Data engineering, including SQL.
- Safety standards, like ISO/PAS 21448 (SOTIF) and ISO 26262 (Functional Safety).
- CI/CD pipeline, e. g. Git, Jenkins, and Bazel.
- Agile development and way of working.

Flexible-remote way of working: Zenseact has a flexible and modern approach, thus is happy to offer to its employees the possibility for a combination of work at the office and from home. This doesn't include fully remote work from outside Sweden/China.
