Data is a key enabler for Zenseact software development. Gb/s streams of high-resolution uncompressed video, radar and LiDAR data in cars quickly accumulates to petabytes of data in our data centers. Managing and processing these datasets in our data centers is a big challenge: Zenseact needs you!


Your Role

Zenseact has several teams working in the areas of data processing and High-Performance Computing, and you will join a team that is responsible for handling data produced by Zenseact's in-house development cars. The team works on data uploading, post-processing tools and pipelines, and data indexing and metadata extraction using a mix of in-house software and commercial hardware and software.


As a Data Engineer you will be part of an agile development team and have a broad role with variation. Your daily tasks will comprise of:

  • Writing software that adds new features or fixes bugs in the systems we maintain for
    • Automotive logger hard disk uploading
    • Transferring of large datasets between data centers
    • Converting vehicle data into useful representations
    • Managing loggers and log files in cars
    • Extracting useful information from vehicle data and storing it in database systems
  • Tracing and solving issues
  • Supporting and collaborating with teams that consume data
  • Collaborating with teams and partners that contribute to the Zenseact data platform
  • Working according to the Scrum framework

Required skills

  • Relevant university degree, for example, Msc in Computer Science is preferred, but a Bachelor’s degree with some years of successful working experience is of interest
  • Extensive knowledge of software development
  • Broad programming experience with languages such as Python and C++ or similar

It is not a requirement but nice if you have:

  • Deep Linux knowledge
  • Containerized software, e.g. Docker, Singularity etc.
  • Understanding of software and system testing

Flexible-remote way of working: Zenseact has a flexible and modern approach, thus is happy to offer to its employees the possibility for a combination of work at the office and from home. This doesn't include fully remote work from outside Sweden.
